So far we have not experienced any incompatability with Terraform providers, and we see that they major ones are already OpenTofu compliant. There is a risk however that there will be some compatability issues going forward as these two tools will continue their development independently. 

But so far we have had great success with using OpenTofu in our  projects, and would recommend this over Terraform for new projects.
